Are you looking for a new way to enjoy your favourite bowl of ramen? Then look no further than WOKE Ramen’s new wok hei-laden lamian. Singapore’s first-ever wok hei ramen is a cultural crossover between Japanese ramen broth and Chinese lamian noodles, presenting a bowl of delicious ramen noodle soup laced with ample wok hei smoke-kissed savouriness.

What is Wok Hei?

Wok hei literally translates to “breath of the wok”, a prized smokiness derived from cooking in an Asian bowed wok. WOKE’s noodles are first stir-fried for that prized wok hei before being doused and served in hearty bowls of creamy chicken collagen and sweet prawn paste broths. The result is an unbeatable combination of smoke, depth and umami – a wonderful alchemy of culture, deliciousness and wok(e).

Two Types of Broths

WOKE Ramen offers two types of base broths to enjoy its wok hei smokiness with – Chicken Collagen Broth and Prawn Broth. The Chicken Collagen Broth is made by simmering pure chicken bones and cartilage for over eight hours to get every bit of flavour, essence and boing-boing collagen goodness. The Prawn Broth is made by boiling fresh sea prawn heads with chicken broth for maximum umami of the sea in a bowl of ultimate seafood richness.

Ramen Variations

WOKE Ramen offers a variety of ramen options to enjoy with both broths. Savour the collagen broth in five different renditions, including Chicken Chashu Collagen Ramen, Prawn Paste Collagen Ramen, Chicken Katsu Collagen Ramen, Chicken Gyoza Collagen Ramen, and classic Chicken Collagen Ramen. The Prawn Broth is also available in five variations featuring different toppings, such as Prawn Paste Ramen, Tiger Prawn Ramen, Chicken Chashu Prawn Ramen, Chicken Gyoza Prawn Ramen, and Seafood Mix Prawn Ramen.

How to Eat WOKE Ramen the Wok Way

WOKE Ramen encourages its customers to take three steps to fully enjoy their piping hot bowl of ramen:

  1. Take a sip of the original soup. Swirl it in your mouth. And savour the woke hei’s smoke-kissed savouriness.
  2. Slurp the ramen. The louder, the better. Feel the chewy texture of the lightly charred noodles.
  3. Add a dash of Woke Mama sauce. Savour. Taste the difference? Add more to intensify.
