About Tigerlily Patisserie
Tigerlily Patisserie is a bakery cafe born out of the pandemic in 2020 as a bake-box concept. It has since expanded its online bake-box business to open its first bakery cafe in Joo Chiat, breaking the mould in style. In the display cases, an alluringly colourful array of classics and unique bakes incorporating seasonal fruits and vegetables will make you feel like a child setting foot in a candy store for the first time.
Helming the business is Maxine Ngooi, a local talent who caught the attention of diners as the Head Pastry Chef of Michelin-starred Vianney Massot Restaurant. One who came up with beautiful, inventive items such as her signature of Le Nid d’Abeille (The Honeycomb), a delicate meringue shell filled with honey parfait, lemon sorbet, and yuzu mousse, she comfortably injects an adventurous Asian spirit into classical European style bakes rooted in haute cuisine techniques.
Tigerlily Patisserie’s expanded range includes artisanal bread baked fresh daily. From whole wheat sourdough and white baguette to ciabatta, all lovingly proofed with natural levain; the loaves express Maxine’s deep passion for bread making, developed while honing her skills in the kitchens of local fine dining institution Les Amis. These wholesome bakes can also be sampled through Tigerlily’s all-day brunch menu, which includes a build-your-own-breakfast option served with a choice of spreads, eggs as you like them, and other simple yet well-executed sides such as sautéed mushrooms and smashed avocado.
Treat your mother like a queen this Mother’s Day with Tigerlily Patisserie’s Camellia Crown Cake. And while you’re there, indulge in delectable pastries, entremets, artisanal bread, and an all-day brunch menu. Tigerlily Patisserie’s unique bakes are presented at the table on pastel-hued service ware custom made by Balinese ceramics atelier Manakala and designed in collaboration with Maxine, each plate and cup a work of art in its own right. It’s not just about the taste; it’s about the experience.
